Please join us for our first NSB Residents’ Coalition Education Seminar featuring Phil Veski, City of NSB Public Information Officer.
Our guest speaker is Public Information Officer Phillip Veski, who has served in the role from City Hall since 2018. A University of Florida graduate and U.S. Navy veteran, Phillip is responsible for curating content on the city’s website and social media channels, keeping local and regional media outlets informed of local activities and legislative affairs, and educating voters about upcoming municipal referendums. As an example, he brought statewide recognition to the city when he was awarded the 2019 Florida Civic Advance Civic Excellence Award for his efforts to promote the Turnbull Creek Water Quality, Wildlife Habitat, and Natural Areas Protection Bonds, which were ultimately approved by over 75% of New Smyrna Beach voters in 2018 and have since shielded over 161 acres of the creek and its upland forests from development.
This evening’s presentation will cover a typical day on the job, who’s who in City Hall, and how best to stay abreast of what’s happening in city government.
